The visible light of the “optical pencil” makes it possible to identify one fibre among others at the time of installation, commissioning or maintenance. This light also highlights defects in the visible part of fibre such as stresses (macro-bends) and breaks in continuity.
The 10mW output power of the TED visual fault locator provides the technician with ease of use by accentuating the intensity of the reflection at the location of the faults present on the fibre. This optical power allows the pencil to be used at overestimated distances of up to 10km (depending on the measurement conditions).
It comes with 2 AAA batteries, a user manual in French and a carrying case. A 1.25mm ferrule adapter is available as an option.
