The LanCaster™ is a professional Structured Cabling Tester and Trouble Shooter designed to speed up the on-site testing of data and voice networks, and the production testing of cable assemblies. It is designed and manufactured to international standards for quality, safety and reliability. The LanCaster™ identifies all common faults, including split pairs, on wiring schemes installed to TIA568 A/B, USOC and ISDN standards. In addition to this the LanCaster™ can inform the user which end of the installed link contains certain types of fault, enabling rapid location and correction. Before checking an installed wiring network, the LanCaster™ will alert the operator if any telephone services are active on the cable under test and can test for, and indicate, any other active services (10Mb/s, 100Mb/s, Token Ring, etc), to prevent accidental testing of a live network. The LanCaster™ also measures the length of cable or link under test, and has a built in tone generator, detectable with a standard probe, for cable tracing and identification. The LanCaster™ is supplied complete with 1 active remote office identifier and further 15 available as optional accessories, used to identify different radial circuits at the network hub.
